Fariid — AI English Language Coach (Loola AI)
AI-powered English language coach built at Loola AI and published on Google Play. Learners practise speaking with an AI conversation partner, build vocabulary with adaptive quizzes and follow self-paced lessons aligned to national learning outcomes. I work on the Fariid team as a full-stack developer.
About this project
Fariid is Loola AI's English learning product for Somali students, designed to work on low-cost Android phones and in low-connectivity areas.
What it does
• AI conversation practice: learners speak with an AI coach that responds like a real conversation partner.
• Vocabulary builder: daily words with adaptive quizzes that adjust to the learner's level.
• Self-paced lessons covering literacy, oral communication and academic English.
My contribution
• Mobile app features in Flutter (lesson flows, quizzes, conversation screens).
• Web platform and dashboards in React.js for learners, teachers and the content team.
• Performance work for low-end devices and offline-tolerant behaviour.
