Loola AI is a Somali ed-tech startup building AI-powered learning tools for schools, in partnership with UNICEF and Amoud University. I work on the Fariid team, an AI English language coach that helps learners practise speaking, build vocabulary, and improve academic English. • Build the Fariid mobile app with Flutter, delivering AI conversation practice, adaptive vocabulary quizzes, and self-paced lessons on Android. • Develop the web platform and dashboards with Next.js and React.js used by learners, teachers, and the content team. • Design and maintain Node.js backend services and REST APIs that power lessons, progress tracking, and the AI coach. • Optimise the app for low-cost devices and low-connectivity areas so learners across Somalia can study anytime, anywhere. • Collaborate with content and product teams to align lessons with national learning outcomes and localise the experience for Somali speakers.

Ardaykaab Academy is a mentorship-driven academy in Hargeisa that teaches Somali youth practical, job-ready tech skills entirely in Somali, through hands-on, project-based programs. As a Web Development Mentor, I guide students from their first line of code to shipping real web applications. • Teach the web fundamentals track in Somali: HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern styling with Tailwind CSS. • Lead hands-on JavaScript sessions on programming logic, DOM manipulation, and building dynamic user interfaces. . Introduce students to React.js and component-based development through real-world projects. • Coach learners on Git and GitHub workflows, code reviews, and deploying their projects to production. • Mentor students one-to-one, review their work, and help them build portfolios that bridge local talent with global opportunities.

GacaloTech is a Mogadishu-based community of 500+ members empowering Somali women and girls in technology through mentorship, hands-on training, and leadership development. As a Frontend Web Development Mentor, I guided a cohort of learners from the fundamentals to building modern, interactive web applications. • Instructed learners on building responsive, modern user interfaces with HTML, CSS, and Tailwind CSS. • Taught core programming logic and dynamic web behaviour with JavaScript through live coding and practice tasks. • Helped students build interactive, component-based web applications with React.js, following industry best practices. • Facilitated hands-on sessions on version control and team collaboration workflows using Git and GitHub. • Reviewed student projects, gave one-to-one feedback, and supported them in publishing their first portfolio sites.
